Friends of the Arts October Meeting! -

Reggie Wilson/Fist and Heel Performance Group - POWER -

  •  Oct. 15 | 8:00 PM | MainStage | $10/$3 (students)
  • With POWER, choreographer and "kinesthetic anthropologist" Reggie Wilson conjures the secret histories of 1800s Black Shaker communities, many led by women. Limited documentation exists on specific Black Shaker practices, but Wilson’s choreographic research gives form to beliefs shared by Shakers and African diasporic belief systems in a dual-Godhead, racial and gender equality, fractal movement patterns, and advancements in technology as acts of worship. Reggie Wilson/Fist and Heel Performance Group is a Brooklyn-based dance company that investigates the intersections of cultural anthropology and movement practices and believes in the potential of the body as a valid means for knowing.

Clinics -

  • COVID and flu vaccines. You can get both at the same time.
  • For COVID, all FDA-approved ages vaccines are available. Elementary school kids can get their COVID booster if they're 5+ months out from the second dose of their original course. For the 12+ age group, the bivalent COVID vaccine is available (that's the latest version that provides better help with Omicron variants).
  • For flu, they'll have the vaccines for all ages (this year, they'll have the special "senior" flu vaccine for 65+ age group).
  • They'll take walk-ins, but much prefer online signups ahead to ensure availability of the correct doses. If someone does walk in, they should have their ID and preferably their COVID vaccination card.
