    • Parents4Greylock - will host an electronic in November for the parent/caregiver position (the community member position is appointed) 
  • Lanesborough-New Ashford Scholarship Support - 
    • LNADS encourages students to serve the Mt. Greylock school and local communities and provides generous scholarships upon graduation in return.

  • Lunch Change - 
    • Starting 10/24 students will need to punch in their lunch codes at the register 
    • Lunch codes are students’ IDs - which are the 5-digit numbers of your PowerSchool user name (without the “S”)
  • Special Education Note - 
    • Both State and federal laws contain rules that school districts must follow when deciding if a student is eligible for special education and, if so, what services the student will receive. These laws also provide detailed procedures for ensuring that the student receives a FAPE (free appropriate public education) during the entire time he or she is eligible for special education. 
    • Here is a copy of the  Massachusetts Parent's Procedural Safeguards given to parents because their student has been referred for or currently receives special education services.
      • This outlines the Parents' rights and the District’s responsibilities in the Special Education process

Student Opportunities -

  • Costume Workshop 
    • Monday, December 5th, 2:45 – 5:00 PM
    • Students will work with Michelle Hathaway, costume shop manager at Shakespeare and Company to learn the basics of costume design. Students will get the tip on how to find and care for costumes, how to make a budget, and participate in some hands-on costume activities.
    • This workshop is sponsored by the Friends of the Arts Students should report to the Auditorium at 2:45 pm. Late Buses (one in each direction) will be leaving the school at 5:15 pm that afternoon for any student needing transportation.
  • Care for Language Presentation w/ Shirley Edgerton  
    • Tuesday, November 15th (during school hours) 
      • Initial presentation - grades 7-9
      • Follow-up conversations - grades 10-12

Family Opportunities - 

  • SEE Fund new members -  
    • The Fund for Sustaining Educational Excellence (SEE Fund) is currently seeking additional volunteer members for their Board of Governors.  
      • Participation begins with our grant season starting in November 2022 and Board members typically serve three-year terms.  
      • The SEE Fund is an endowment fund whose mission is to provide financial support for superior educational initiatives through grants.

  •  Talking to Kids About Racism

    • Mount Greylock Regional School Auditorium
    • With Dr. Simran Jeet Singh - About this talk: So many of us want to talk to our kids about racism, but we don't know if it's appropriate, and we don't know where to begin. In this session, Dr. Singh will share his learnings and tips on how we can approach these conversations with our children in ways that are honest, healthy, and constructive.
