Dear MG Students and Families,
We've had a strong and successful start to the school year! It’s been wonderful to see the energy, enthusiasm, and sense of community in the building. I appreciate your support in making the first week a positive one.
When we gathered in the gym on our first day, we emphasized three expectations for our students that are embedded in our mantra, The Greylock Way:
- Be Kind – Show respect and compassion in all interactions.
- Get Involved – Take part in clubs, sports, and school events.
- Take Ownership – Be accountable for your learning, actions, and choices.
Thank you again for a great start to the year. We look forward to continued growth, learning, and community throughout the months ahead!

School Council -
- Parent/caregiver vote will be open from 9/11 to 9/18. Self-nominations will be accepted up to 9/10. Please send jschutz@mgrsd.org a message with your intent and a statement (if you'd like) to be posted in the ballot.
- There is a Lanesborough Community member position available on the School Council as well. The Principal appoints this position. Eligible community members must live in Lanesborough and not have a student in the school district. Please send names and contact information of interested people to jschutz@mgrsd.org.
Safety and Emergency Drills -
We successfully completed our first emergency drills of the year. Drills are an essential part of maintaining a safe environment and will continue throughout the school year.
Late Bus Schedule & Routes -
To support after-school activities, we offer late buses to Lanesborough and Williamstown during the following times:
- Tuesdays & Thursdays at 4:15 PM
- Monday through Friday at 5:15 PM
Please note:
- There are typically no late buses on half days.
- Buses follow either a Northern or Southern Late Bus Route, depending on destination.
