Student Opportunities:

Lifeguard Course – (attached)

  • I wanted to share that the YMCA has an upcoming Lifeguard Course for anyone 16 and over. The YMCA will reimburse 100% of the program fee with 6-months of employment and good standing with the YMCA. If you could forward along to anyone that you may think would be interested. 
  • *Must pass the Lifeguard Swim Test (500 yard swim, 2 minutes water tread, retrieve brick from 10-ft of water) before can take the course*

Playwright Mentorship Program (PMP) – Monday at lunches

  • Our 2022-23 Season of the Playwright Mentoring Project has finally started and we are very excited to begin our recruiting process and we would love to be able to recruit participants for PMP at Mt. Greylock.

  • Our season officially commences in the first weeks of October and we hope to be able to visit your school and share about this program with your students. We are going to be actively recruiting the weeks of September 19 and the 26th. Please let us know what days and times would work for us to visit your school. We would love to table at lunch as well as visit during a free period to give a sample of what folks might expect as part of the program. Right now our availability to recruit is wide open so please let us know what days would work best for you!

Williams Center @ MG –

  • Williams Center @ Mount Greylock academic support programs will begin the week of Sept 26th.  ALL tutoring programs are FREE.  Learn more about the WILLIAMS CENTER PROGRAMMING. 
  • Parents and guardians, please complete this one time CONTRACT to sign up your student for after school and/or evening tutoring. 

·         After school tutoring for grades 7-12 is on Tuesdays and Thursdays - all subjects 

·         Sunday evening remote tutoring is for grades 9-12 and is specifically for math and science support. 

·         Writing Fellows are available during the school day and in the evenings (MG students self-schedule with the Fellows) for essay/writing support. To be matched with a Writing Fellow, students should see Mrs. Barrett (NO contract needed).

  • Attached is the September 12, 2022 “List of Food Pantries & Meal Sites in Berkshire County”. 
  • Please note the following corrections to the list:
    • The only changes to the previous list are the deletions of the Pittsfield Public Schools Summer Food Programs, the Hoosac Valley Regional School District Kids’ Summer Food Program, and the North Adams Public Schools Summer Food Service Program.
