School Choice Program Information

We are now accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year! If you complete the online form, please know that we'll automatically incorporate your application into our lotteries in June. If your student receives a "seat" via those lotteries, we'll send an email to the address that you provide with instructions for how to enroll. If your student does not receive a seat, we'll send an email to you in June informing you of that and let you know any possible next steps. Thank you for your interest and patience!

School Choice is a Massachusetts program that allows Massachusetts residents to attend a public school outside of their city or town of residence. Mount Greylock Regional School District participates in the School Choice program and admits a limited number of students under the terms and conditions of the Massachusetts School Choice Law and with the following local conditions:

  1. The selection of non-resident students for admission is in the form of a random drawing when the number of requests exceeds the number of available spaces within a given school/grade. Siblings of current students do receive preference within any lottery over students without siblings already within the district. The first possibility of acceptance in an upcoming school year takes place during the final week of the current school year (typically one of the final two weeks in June)In order to ensure consideration, please submit your application by June 1st. A second lottery might be conducted during the week immediately preceding the opening of the next school year, based on previously unexpected additional openings.
  2. Any student who is accepted for admission under the provisions of this policy is entitled to remain in the district through graduation from high school, except if there is a lack of funding for the program. The district does not provide transportation to School Choice students.
  3. The District affirms its position that it shall not discriminate in the admission of any child on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, gender identity, age, homelessness, sexual orientation, ancestry, athletic performance, physical handicap, special need, academic performance, or proficiency in the English language.
