Join scenic painter and theater artist Katie Polebaum-Freeman for a workshop focused on scenic painting. Katie is currently working at Williams College and Miss Hall’s School and she will provide any interested Mount Greylock student hands-on instruction  to create a show stopping (or producing) set in the Mount Greylock Auditorium.

I’m writing a follow-up to my email last week regarding sick-absences and recommendation to wear a mask while in school. Absences from school and the prevalence of COVID-19 within our school community have declined this week, which is wonderful! Our original recommendation that all community members wear a mask is expiring today, and we are not renewing that call for action.

This letter is to let you know that the annual mandated screenings will take place the second full week in February. Screenings include body mass index (BMI), posture, vision and hearing. The purpose of the screenings are to find early signs of possible problems in students. This is not a diagnostic service but rather a screening to identify young people who should have further medical evaluation.

On Saturday, nine of our students participated in the final weekend of the MMEA Western District festival.  These nine musicians represented MGRHS extremely well - not only did they sing and play beautifully, but they were fully engaged in all rehearsals, asked their guest conductors wonderful questions, and served as great role models for others.  Additionally, for at least the second year in a row, MGRHS sent the most musicians from Berkshire County.  (Lenox came close this year!)

Monday and Tuesday, January 23rd and 24th, will be half days for high school exam administration. 

In addition to the afterschool buses at 11:30, there will be a late bus each day at 1:15.

Over the last few days, the district has experienced a significant increase in sick-absences within our community, with a sizable portion of those absences confirmed as cases of COVID-19. We have communicated with the MA Department of Public Health, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, local health officials, and local physicians. Through collaboration with those advisors and their support, we are taking the following steps:
