Tuesday (5/14): Vocabulary due Wednesday.  Work on rough draft of interview narrative.  Rough draft is due Thursday.  Continue reading ORB.  You must read 2/3 of the book by Friday.

Wednesday (5/15): Vocabulary due today.  Continue working on your narrative essay and reading your ORB.

Thursday (5/16): Rough Draft of Narrative Essay due!  Tonight you must study for vocab. (list #10) and grammar (comma splice and pronoun/antecedent agreement) quiz.  It will be TUESDAY due to tomorrow morning's play (We are going to see Twelve Angry Jurors!).

Friday (5/17): Vocabulary/Grammar Quiz and 2/3 of ORB due TUESDAY.  Narrative Essay final copy (with rough draft, planning sheet, and final copy) due MONDAY!  Be ready to share your essay (or a part of your essay ) in class.

Monday (1/28): Rough Draft of TKM analytical essay due today.  We will peer edit in class.  Definitions for vocabulary words (List #15) due Tuesday: monogamy, monism, monochromatic, monocle, monoglot, monogram, monolithic, monomania, monophobia.

Tuesday (1/29): A SPECIAL GUEST WILL VISIT OUR CLASS TODAY! Mr. Chenail, a lawyer, will visit us to discuss his profession and how it relates to TKM and TAM.

Tonight you must finish final copy of essay.  It is due Wednesday.

Wednesday (1/30): ESSAY DUE TODAY! For full credit, you must have your final copy, rough draft, and peer edit sheet (in that order) when you walk into class.

Thursday (1/31): Study for vocabulary (List #15) and grammar (appositives) quiz tomorrow.

Friday (2/1): Vocabulary and Grammar Quiz today.  This weekend you must think about your upcoming research paper.  You will choose your topic next week.

Thursday (1/24): Work on rough draft of essay tonight.  Rough draft is due Monday.  If you have a rough draft completed by Friday, I'd be happy to read it over the weekend and give you some basic feedback.

Friday (1/25): Continue working on your essay.  We are reading Twelve Angry Men in class.

Friday (9/14): Vocabulary and Grammar Quiz.  This weekend finish the rough draft you began in class Friday.  Rough draft due Monday.

Monday (9/3): Labor Day-No School!

 

Tuesday (9/4): Definitions for new vocabulary words due Wednesday: contraindication, contravene, counterclaim, counterintuitive, contraband, contrast, counterfeit, contraceptive, counterculture.

 

Tonight you must also finish your ATD drawing.

 

Wednesday (9/5): Vocabulary due today. ATD drawing due today. Tonight you must complete the rough draft of the narrative essay you began in class today. Rough draft is due Thursday.

 

Thursday (9/6): We will complete grammar exercises in class today (nouns). You will also share the draft of the narrative essay you finished last night. Tonight you must review for the vocabulary (list #1) and grammar (nouns) quiz you will have Friday.

 

Friday (9/7): Vocabulary and Grammar Quiz today. Read assigned section in Writing Packet over the weekend.

Welcome to my website!

If you are reading this, you must have seen my name on your schedule.  I love teaching English at Mt. Greylock, and I hope you will find this class both exciting and rewarding.  We will spend lots of time this year  reading, writing, discussing, and thinking.  You will need some basic supplies for this class:

A binder with dividers and lined paper

A sturdy two-pocket folder (for packets and supplemental materials I will give to you)

A writing untensil

If you don't have these the first day, don't worry.  I will, however, expect you to have them by Sept. 4.

I look forward to meeting you!  Enjoy these last days of vacation.  Make sure you complete your summer reading assignments.  Feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.
