Enrichment & Extra Credit

Except in special circumstances, extra credit is only available to students who complete at least 75% of their homework.  If you feel you meet this criteria, or that yours is a special circumstance, please let me know and I'll figure it out.

Any Quarter / All Year - Online Video

Option 1. Check out this interview on YouTube with Sheila Kay Adams as a beginning, and answer the questions posted below.  Move on to Option 2 for a more complex / open-ended assignment.

----  David Holt interviews Sheila Kay Adams, (Copyright 2010, UNC-TV)

----  Questions to answer for credit (read these before you watch, so you know what to look for.)

Option 2. You might want to check out this awesome website that collects numerous films about American folklife.  There are films about music, hunting, fishing, art, craft, storytelling, immigration, and multiple ethnic traditions.  Any of these could be the basis for extra credit this year, from a few points to many.

---- Fewer Points - Summarize the content of the video and write a brief statement about your perceptions of it.

----  More points - Reflect personally on the content, such that it is clear you watched and 'digested' it.  What parts seemed connected to what you've studied at Mt. Greylock already this year?  What parts connect to you in your life outside of school?  What in the video inspired you?  What confused you?  'And stuff like that...' as you all say.
