Two Grading Proposals
A proposal to reintroduce letter-grades for Health/Wellness classes, and to have those grades be included when computing Grade Point Average
This proposal has been brought forward by the Health/Wellness Department. The department believes that the value of what is learned in Health/Wellness should be given a letter grade and full weight in a student's GPA. They have been using the proposed grading system this year and have found that when students understand how they are being graded, their involvement and enjoyment improve.

Weighting of AP and Honors classes when computing GPA
Last year, responding to a proposal from the Strategic Planning Committee, the School Committee approved in-principle reducing the extra weighting of grades in AP and Honors classes upon a student's Grade Point Average. Superintendent Bill Travis, after researching grade-weighting in similar schools elsewhere in the state has proposed the following weighting system to the School Committee.
