Mt. Greylock Regional School District

FY2011 Budget Information

The MGRHS School Committee has approved a budget for FY2011 that increases over 2010 by just over 2%. Due to cuts in revenue from the state, the two towns, Williamstown and Lanesborough, are each considering how to pay for the increases in their assessments of 6% for Williamstown, and 11% for Lanesborough.

Williamstown is proposing two small debt exclusions to their voters: the first will finance the cost of a new bond that the district is using to repair the ceilings in the locker rooms and to replace failed boilers, and the second will finance the last two years of a bond that the district used to finance roof repairs several years ago. Williamstown voters will decide on the two debt exclusion questions at the town election on May 11th, and will vote on the overall assessment at Annual Town Meeting on May 18th.

Lanesborough,  whose elections and town meeting will happen in June, has not yet determined how it proposes to respond to the increased assessment.
