Welcome to the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of Lanesborough/New Ashford (CSFLNA) web page. Please visit us often to find out about fundraising events, community service opportunities, scholarship application deadlines and other CSFLNA news.
About Us: The mission of the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of Lanesborough and New Ashford is to provide scholarships to students from Lanesborough and New Ashford to pursue higher education. Community members and students volunteer thousands of hours each year towards fund raising activities. CSFLNA is also supported by donations from businesses, organizations and private citizens.
For 50 years, the Citizens Scholarship Foundation of Lanesborough and New Ashford has been awarding scholarships to graduating seniors who live in the towns of Lanesborough or New Ashford. Community members and students raise money for these scholarships through an annual wreath sale and plant sale, raffles and the generous support of local businesses and private citizens.
In June 2011, the CSFLNA awarded $8,600 to 15 applicants from the class of 2011. Congratulations to Marissa Ericson recipient of the $500 Beverly Wall Scholarship, in honor of Bev Wall a career nurse and past president of CSFLNA. Marissa will attend Ithaca College. Congratulations also to Bryanna Flynn-Kasuba and Sara Scorpa recipients of the Ron Montelone Memorial scholarship. Kudos also to our other awardees: Jeremy Galib, Marston Albert, Kimberly Leon, Rinky Shaw, Kyles Byrnes, Alex Belanger, Brandon Decelles, Eric Ketcham, Daniel Scorpa, Jessica Barnes, Sarah Robinson, and Courtney Shelsy.
These scholarships would not be possible without the generous and continued support of our business community, including: D. Wooliver and Sons, DR Billings,Inc.,Edward Restivo Contractor, Gary Albert and Sons, Injected Solutions, John's Excavating/Tractor Service, Maximillian Technologies, Nonamie Trailer Park, and O'Connell Oil/Convenience Plus.

2011/2012
We are very excited to begin another successful year! The mission of our local chapter continues to be giving back to our own communities. In past years our students have lent their time and talents to Lanesborough Elementary School tutoring students or assisting in the drama program there, assisting coaches in Lanesborough youth sports, town clean ups, Lanesborough volunteer fire department, and the Lanesborough Tree and Forest Committee. Community service is an important factor in determining scholarship awards. Community service includes service to the towns of Lanesboro and New Ashford, to scholarship foundation fundraisers or to any other volunteer activity that strives to help people and improve conditions in your local community.
Students must participate in at least one CSFLNA fundraiser during high school in order to submit a scholarship application.
We hope that you will become involved in some kind of community service. The CSFLNA plans to keep you informed of opportunities to donate your energy, talents, and brainpower.
